Brad Pitt to quit acting in three years!

We were devastated to hear that Brad Pitt’s time on the silver screen may be coming to an end very soon!

In an interview with Australian chat show 60 Minutes to promote his latest film Moneyball, the Hollywood hunk revealed plans to retire from acting at the age of 50, in three years’ time. Asked what he would do once he had hung up his acting boots, Brad replied: “Hell if I know. I am really enjoying the producerial [sic] side and… getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise.”

The actor and father of the Brangelina brood also admitted that the roles he is choosing now reflect the work he would like his children to see when they are older. The 47 year old said:

“If I’m choosing a film now I want it to be, maybe, less immature than things I’ve done in the past. I’m very conscious that they’re going to see it as adults. I want it to mean something to them. I want them to think: ‘Dad’s all right.’ It changes everything.”

The star also hinted that the constant media attention surrounding his children was discouraging him from continuing with a career in the spotlight, saying:

“Their idea is that when they go out beyond the gate – because we have to live behind a gate - there’s people standing there in line with cameras that try to take your picture. Their idea is that everyone has to deal with that though the older ones are getting more savvy. It’s the only thing that I get hot about, that I’m ready to fight about.”

So what will we do when Brad stops making movies we can swoon over? Probably enjoy some nights in with re-runs of Brad Pitt classics such as Interview with the Vampire and Mr and Mrs Smith. That doesn’t sound so bad!
