Farewell tour in the pipeline for Girls Aloud?
Rumour has it that the girls are
planning a farewell tour to mark the tenth anniversary of the group, before going
their separate ways for good. Fans will be thrilled with this news, which
follows an announcement from band manager Hilary Shaw earlier this year that
the girls will perform together in 2012. Sources have revealed plans for a
reunion which will take the girls on a three week tour, finishing with a big
bash in Wembley with some of the UK’s hottest female artists.
Whilst band members Kimberley
Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding enjoyed some success in
their solo projects, it was Cheryl Cole’s career that sky rocketed once the
band took a break. The pint sized singer has recently set her sights on the US,
although her plans on cracking the continent have taken a tumble with her very
public sacking by Simon Cowell from the American X Factor judging panel.
The tenth anniversary of the
band’s formation on Popstars: The Rivals seems like perfect timing for Cheryl
and the girls, whose careers have shown signs of flagging. That said, we can’t
wait to see the girls get together once more, and we will be dusting off their
greatest hits album to remind ourselves of the lyrics in preparation for next
year’s tour!
