Katy Perry Is Transformed Into A Sim!

Katy Perry is known for her animated ways including her love for colourful outfits and even more colourful hair; some would even say that Katy resembles that of a cartoon character. Katy has even said herself that she has long fantasised about becoming a cartoon character. Well much to Katy’s delight, she has now been transformed into a Sim!

The Teenage Dream singer has signed up to work with Electronic Arts (EA) on The Sims. On Tuesday EA announced their plans “to develop multiple games within The Sims franchise featuring special Katy Perry themed in-game content and virtual goods.”

The Sims is a hugely popular life-simulation computer/video game. The game allows you to create your own Sim. You as the player have complete control over your Sim’s life and actions, from building their house, their job, relationships etc.

Katy has said that she has been a fan of The Sims game for years. Talking about the much-loved game, Katy said:

“I always like to think of myself as a cartoon, and now I'm a Sim. I love how you're able to play out different stories through your Sims characters - giving them different careers and watching them succeed.”

This isn’t the first time Katy has been linked to the The Sims. In 2006 Katy recorded her song Hot and Cold in the language of the Sims, Simlish, for a Sims 2 expansion pack. According to EA the video is the most popular of its kind.

Many fans will love the fact Katy is a Sim as they will be able to impersonate her character on the game. Not only will The Sim character resemble Katy, so too will some of the set. The latest game, Showtime features replicas of the exact staging from Katy’s latest tour. Katy said:

“It's cool to see the Sims' stage performances in The Sims 3 Showtime decked out just like my California Dreams Tour - even my cotton candy video screens are in there.”

To make sure the creators and designers get it just right, Katy herself will be working closely with The Sims Studio to create clothing, accessories, props and hairstyles. The company have said that with Katy’s help, they want to create designs 'that truly celebrate the imagination that she brings to her performances, music videos and life'.

The singer will also feature in the brand's latest advertising and marketing campaigns.

The first result of this collaboration will be an expansion pack for The Sims 3 Showtime — Katy Perry Collector’s Edition —which is due to be released in March 2012.

Let’s hope this new and exciting project will help the star take her mind of the divorce she is currently going through with estranged husband comedian Russell Brand.
