Presenter Lorraine Kelly was rushed to hospital yesterday
due to suffering with serious leg injuries following a horse accident.
The accident occurred when Lorraine attempted a jump at a
training event. When going for the jump Lorraine fell off the horse, which then
stamped on her thigh.
Paramedics were called to Chessington Equestrian Centre
yesterday where they found Lorraine bleeding heavily.
Due to her injuries Lorraine was taken to St George’s
Hospital in Tooting, south London, where she underwent an emergency operation.
Lorraine revealed the news on Twitter saying:
'I fell of
the horse while attempting a jump for the first time. Unfortunately the horse
stamped on my thigh. As a result - deep wound and lots of blood. Was treated by
fab paramedics in ambulance - then given an op under general anaesthetic at
hospital.
She added:
Will be in for a couple if days and will take
around four weeks to heal but will be back at work before that! 'A bit
bruised and battered but fine - just sad I can't complete today's charity
challenge.’
The challenge Lorraine was competing in was for Sarah
Brown’s children’s charity PiggyBankKids.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Lorraine!
