Denise Welch Confirms Split with Husband Tim Healy on Loose Women

Denise Welch has confirmed that she has split with husband Tim Healy after 24 years of marriage.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner announced the news on Loose Women, telling viewers: “I just want to say, this is going to be really difficult for me.

“My family made a decision that we would talk about this today. Tim and I separated some time ago.”

Since her stint on CBB Welch has been linked to toyboy Lincoln Townley. Whilst the TV personality has previously admitted to having an affair with carpenter Steve Murray, she has not yet lifted the lid on her relationship with Lincoln, despite being photographed with him. Defending herself from the tabloids who branded her a home wrecker, Welch continued: “So I’m not having an affair, we have been living our own lives for some time now.

“I just wanted to thank everybody. Tim and I feel a sense of relief that we don’t have to hide this anymore.

“We’ve actually become better friends since we’ve made the decision. We’re all just going to move forward as a family.

“Tim and I are still going to be co-parents and we love each other very much.”

Letting the cat out the bag must have been a huge weight off the couple’s shoulders. The pair are said to have split before Christmas, but maintained a front for the cameras whilst they tried to come to terms with the decision.

Denise went out of her way to maintain a happy family image, even as her marriage was crumbling. She made the effort to cosy up to her husband for the cameras at his 60^th birthday celebrations, before later insisting: “Everything’s fine at home, absolutely fine. We had a great day yesterday. It was Tim’s birthday.”

Denise cited her children as the main reason for sharing the news on her TV show, saying: “The kids love us very much, they wanted me to do this today because if you do it via a newspaper or a magazine they can choose their headlines.”
