Madonna Thrills Millions with Super Bowl Performance

So last night Madonna took on her Super Bowl half time performance… and smashed it!

The queen of pop entertained hundreds of millions of people around the world with her 13 minute set. Her performance was so colourful and energetic that most people instantly forgave Madge for the lip-synching!

The diva performed a medley which included her classic hits Vogue and Music. Not to miss an opportunity to plug her latest single, she was also joined by Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. in the performance of Gimme all your Luvin’.

Madge was also joined briefly by LMFAO – leopard print and all – and even had time to duet with Cee Lo Green as she concluded the performance with a choral arrangement of Like a Virgin.

The performance was almost slip-up free, but Madonna was let down by M.I.A. who couldn’t resist the opportunity to show off her rebellious side by raising her middle finger to the cameras.

In general, however, most people were left impressed by the 53-year-old’s performance. Thousands took to Twitter to voice their approval – Twitter reports that at the peak of her set, 10,245 people were tweeting every second!

Many celebrities also used the social networking site to congratulate Madonna. Paula Abdul tweeted: “O.M.G. #Madonna #killedit BRILLIANT #HalfTime show!!!!!!!!!!!! SUPERB choreography & Madonna was FLAWLESS!”

Denise Richards also praised the queen of pop: “Madonna looks amazing!! Great #halftime show!!!”

We are sure Madonna will be breathing a sigh of relief now the show is over. The singer revealed that she was feeling the pressure, telling reporters at the premiere of her new film W.E.: “I’m sorry if I cry. I’m just so exhausted from Super Bowl rehearsals.”
